Boulder violist session

Boulder Violists 2014. Note that bowties will not be required every year...

The Boulder Violist Session is an intensive program in June designed for more advanced high school and university students. The dates for 2016 will be approximately May 27-June 11. Each student will have two new contrasting solo pieces to study, agreed upon in advance. Program includes five individual lessons (approximately two per week) and at least three group classes. Class topics will partially depend on needs of the particular students but could include technical skill-building, scales/arp's, etudes, and ensemble repertoire, in addition to solo performance. Session culminates in a final performance of all solo repertoire. $350 cost will include lessons and classes. (Students will be responsible for pianist needs as necessary, though I can help arrange.) Participants are invited through teacher recommendation and are expected to be highly committed to practicing and preparation.

Representative examples of past repertoire studied: Weber Andante & Rondo Ongarese, Martinu Rhapsody-Concerto, Schumann Märchenbilder, Hindemith Solo Sonata Op. 25 #1, Hummel Fantasy, Bartok Concerto.
